It is illegal for electrical contractors (including electricians) to operate a business without an ECRA/ESA licence. Wiring is complicated and mistakes can be serious. A Licensed Electrical Contractor can get the job done right. Licensed Electrical Contractors are qualified, competent, and insured in accordance with the law, and understand the safety requirements associated with electrical installations. To confirm that the electrical contractor that you are planning to hire has an ECRA/ESA licence, ask for their licence number, and then call 1-877-ESA-SAFE (1-877-372-7233).
